I’d rather stand out than fade in. I don’t wanna be just another face in the crowd. I want to make a difference. I want to be seen. I want to be my own person. And I am.
Dear Inner Child.
Thank you for being a curious child. For always wondering what can happen and never failing to explore. Thank you for seeing things differently than others and not being afraid to be different. You’ve always marched to your own beat and was never one to follow the crowd. You were truly an individual, and for that, I thank you.
You helped me become who I am now. Thanks to you, I still march to my own beat. I’ve got my head straight on my shoulders. I don’t let others persuade me too much and I have my own brain. I am my own person and I’m not a mindless droid. I do what I want because I want to, and not because others want it.
Unfortunately, over time, I’ve grown to care too much about others that sometimes I have to hold back. My moral conscience has taken over a good portion of my life and I’m afraid of hurting others, and I know this hinders my creativity. I do hold back from time to time, but only when I know it isn’t conducive to everyone. I really do care too much, and I know I need to stop, or else I’ll explode.
Idea: Transference through computer screens.
I wish there was a way to transfer objects through computer screens. For example, you would be chatting with someone then you would open a certain program or window and it would just be a white box, but if you touch it or put something through it, you’re hand or the object will go through and will come out of the screen of the person you’re talking to. It can be similar to having a video chat, but a video chat with a portal that can send objects.
Why do I want this? I want this because it is an easy way to deliver things to people and share things with friends. The other night I was talking to a friend online and she had potatoe chips and I had chocolates. I didn’t want my chocolate and I wanted chips, and she wanted chocolate instead of chips. Then I said, “How awesome would it have been if we could just trade through the screen?”
Music & Lyrics.
Music has become a creative outlet for me. Actually, not really a creative outlet, more of a means to get my creativity moving. I can’t live without music. I need to have sound and music in my life. If I don’t have it, I think I’d go insane or I’d sleep through life. Music keeps me going and keeps me motivated. It adds colour and life into my world. It’s also a form of expression for me.
Lyrics tend to depict my mood. If you want to know how I’m feeling, you can usually tell by the lyrics of the songs I listen to. Lyrics inspire me and touch me. If music gets my creativity moving and started, lyrics are my outlet for it. If there’s something I’m feeling or something on my mind that I can express through song lyrics, I belt out the lyrics and sing along. Sing like no one’s listening, and that’s what I do.
I can probably give a song lyrics for every endeavour I’ve faced in my life. Unfortunately, I’m horrible at making my own music. I’m better at taking someone else’s work and using it to express myself. I’m not musically inclined in any way, although music does help me a lot creatively.
Idea: Cookie Lollipops, the big project.
I want to make cookie lollipops. My birthday is this Saturday and I’m having a dinner with friends. As a token of my appreciation for their attendance, I want to give each of them something as a treat, especially since my birthday is on Halloween. My idea was to bake them something, and I chose cookies that I’ll have on sticks as lollipops. I’ve already chosen a recipe and this will be my trial run for my big project for class. I’m making cookie lollipops for my big project in class as well, but before I do the big project I need to try it out first.
Quiz: Right Brain vs. Left Brain
You Are 45% Left Brained, 55% Right Brained
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you’re left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.
The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you’re right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.
Are You Right or Left Brained?
I’m not all that surprised that I’m pretty half and half when it comes to both. I often feel conflicted or that I’m a walking contradiction when it comes to my skills and interests. Math and logic are one of my strongest assets. I’m incredibly good a working with numbers and sequences and looking for patterns, but I’m also quite abstract. I thrive for creativity and artsy stuff. I love to express myself through art and I have a wild imagination. I tend to see things in a different light compared to others. However, when I’m working on a piece of art, I tend to add some math into it. For example, when making a painting or drawing a picture, I like everything being very proportioned and having the right measurements and being even. Same goes for logical things. Whenever I’m doing and essay or report of some sort, I like adding my own flare to it through typography, its layout and any headers or title pages. In short, I truly am a balance of both.
